Older Man Finds Bird’s Feet Frozen To Pipe. His Ingenious Rescue Went Viral Overnight

In the dead of winter, a Nelson Wilson discovered an unusual thing. A small bird had its feet frozen to an outside pipe. It was a little finch, and it had landed on a pipe that was next to a water heater, where it had stopped for a drink.

The bird’s feet got wet and when it landed on the pipe, its feet became frozen to it. Its panicked tweeting alerted Nelson to its situation, and he was there as soon as he could to help the little guy. The bird flapped its wings several times, but it was certain that the ice had it in its cold grips.

Nelson wasn’t really sure what to do, but he was not going to leave the bird frozen to the pipe. So after thinking for a minute, Nelson cupped his hand around the bird and began huffing his warm breath at its feet, hoping to melt the ice that had formed on them.

After a few minutes, the bird’s feet started to loosen up from the pipe, then Nelson was able to careful move its feet off the pipe.

He held it in his hand for a moment and then released it, so it could fly away.

Hopefully, that little bird didn’t run into any more cold pipes on its journey.
