Doctors Advise Randy Travis’ Wife To Pull The Plug, She Takes Matters Into Her Own Hands

Country music artist Randy Travis has been an icon for his amazing singing talents for many years. But the last few years have been extremely tough ones for him. And, at one point, he was in the hospital in a coma suffering from severe cardiomyopathy.

Doctors said there was no hope for him, and urged his wife, Mary, to pull the plug. But Mary clung to hope beyond hope, and decided to give him more time. “At this point, the one to two-percent chance is [a] 100-percent chance over zero,” she said. “I prayed hard, ‘God, please let me have him back, any way, shape or form.'”

And as she prayed daily, Randy started coming back, little by little. But the stroke had left the singer with many challenges ahead of him – like walking and talking and other small tasks that we often take for granted. It’s been four long, grueling years. And now, he’s trying to again find his musical ways that have been cherished by so many for so long. And, hopefully, he will.

As Mary said: “I think our goal for five years is to remain hopeful and keep our heads up high and not throw in the towel and be happy with wherever God has us. If it’s back up on that stage singing, hallelujah.”
