In 2019 we held our first, free, 11-day literature festival in Nørrebro funded by the Danish Arts Foundation & Nørrebro Lokaludvalg. The line-up included international artists and writers Arlo Parks, Travis Alabanza, Sophia Thakur, Will Harris, Camara Joof and local authors Lone Aburas, Eva Tind, Jamal Bendahaman, Mikas Lang, Deniz Kiy, Sabitha Söderholm, Natasha Kawabata, Yong Sun Gullach, Nazila Kivi, Farhiya Khalid and Fatema Abdoolcarim. Our focus was on experimenting with framework and challenging the forms that literature can take. In addition to readings, talks, and running a pop-up book shop in the space, we also hosted zine and book binding workshops, a silent book club, performances, bedtime stories, and an interactive VR installation by Bansuree Bayshal.
